Apart from the component parts of triathlon there are many other activities on offer in the vicinity of Les Stables.
Canoeing
If you’ve had enough or swimming in the river, why not enjoy a relaxing trip in a canoe on the tranquil waters of the River Dronne. We have a couple of large canoes at Les-Stables available for use at any time, or you can hire canoes in Brantome or Bordeilles for a longer trip; you could even stop for a picnic lunch at the Stables en route.
Climbing
For the more adventurous, directly opposite Les-Stables on the other side of the river is the Forge du Diable, an incredible limestone outcrop, resembling the shape of a forge jutting out from the cliffs, this is just one of the many challenging climbs for sport climbers along this stretch of the Fallais.
In addition to La Forge du Diable there are a further five climbing areas in the Val De Dronne and these are Le Vieux Breuil, Les Clos, La Tabaterie, La Forge du Boulou and Le Moulin de Rochereuil.
Equestrian
Just 2km beyond Bourdeilles is an equestrian centre for pony trekking, catering for all abilities, this is a fabulous way to enjoy this beautiful countryside.
Microlite
If you prefer your sightseeing from a bird’s eye point of view, microlite flights are available from the village of Valeuil just a short distance from Les-Stables.
Mountain Bike
Want a change from road biking? Mountain bikes are available for hire locally, and are a great way of exploring the many local trails through woodland and pasture, up and down the undulating countryside.
Tennis
Public tennis courts are available in Bourdeilles - booking/keys are available in the local bar.
Fishing
There is also plenty of fishing in these parts, and day licences can be bought from the local bar or directly from the many private lakes in the area.
